    DNS server – translates network names (www.lancom.de) or names of computers (www.lancom.de) to actual IP addresses. The LANCOM router can perform the functions of both a default gateway and a DNS server. In addition, as a DHCP server it can also automatically assign valid IP addresses to all of the computers in the LAN.

CAPI (Common ISDN Application Programming Interface) establishes the connection between ISDN adapters and communications programs. The simplest option for the protection of the configuration is the estab- lishment of a password. As long as a password hasn't been set, anyone can change the configuration of the device.
