Caller ID Problems
Caller ID information does not display.
Caller ID displays briefly and then
clears.
Caller ID displays, but I can't hear the
CID announcements.
Multi-handset Problems
I can't transfer calls.
Two handsets can't talk to a caller.
A handset says Unavailable.
I can't register a new handset.
Answering System Problems
The answering system does not work.
The system won't record messages.
A handset can't access the answering
system.
My outgoing message is gone.
I can't hear the base speaker.
Messages are incomplete.
The system keeps recording when I
answer on an extension.
Possible Solutions
• Let calls ring twice before answering.
• Make sure your Caller ID service is
active.
• You may have to change the line
mode. Contact Customer Service for
instructions.
• Making sure Caller Announce (Text-To-
Speech) is turned on (see page 23).
• Increasing the ringer volume so the CID
announcements are louder.
Possible Solutions
Reset all the handsets (see page 34).
See if any handset is in Privacy Mode.
• Move the handset closer to the base.
• See if any handset is in Privacy Mode.
• Reset the handset (see page 34).
• Reset the handset (see page 34).
• See if you already have 6 registered
handsets.
Possible Solutions
• Make sure the answering system is on.
• Make sure the base is plugged in.
• See if Record Time is set to Announce
Only.
• Delete messages (memory may be full).
• Set the answer machine ring time to 6 or
less to ensure that the messages are not
going to voice mail (see page 27).
• See if another handset is using the
system.
• Make sure the phone is in standby.
If there was a power failure, re-record your
personal outgoing message.
• Make sure call screening is turned on.
• Change the base speaker volume.
• Increase the Record Time.
• Delete messages (memory full)
You may have to change the line mode.
