Adjust RV4 TVG Offset to + 0.02 VDC (slightly positive).

TRANSMITTER, PREAMP,
RECEIVER ADJUSTMENT (J-Box)
Locate a solid target 100-200 meters, (300-600 feet) away.
Select the smallest scanning sector and position the sector
over the target with the Bearing Knob. Adjust Tilt, Bearing,
Near and Far Gain for Sonar A for good target marking on
the display.
Connect the positive lead of an Analog Volt OHM Meter
(VOM) to TP5, Receiver Output (see T.P.R. drawing for loca-
tion). Connect the negative lead to TP1, Receiver Ground.
Select the 3 Volt DC scale on the VOM. The DC scale will
give better results than the AC scale.
Adjust the following, in order, for maximum defl ection on
the VOM. To verify your tuning, repeat the procedure.
