When the sonar is on, the soundome can be retracted
by moving the HOIST Switch to the up position. This
is useful when operating the sonar in the sounder mode
without extending the soundome.
2.1 Hoist Down Light
When the Hoist Down Light is on, it indicates that the
soundome is in the down position. This light serves as
a warning. The light must go off when the soundome
in retracted.
3.0 VOLUME
This control is used to raise and lower the volume
of the external speaker. Sound is proportional to the
echo strength of the target displayed on the screen.
Also, weak targets below the preset threshold can be
heard when volume is turned up.

BRIGHTNESS
The BRIGHTNESS Control allows you to adjust the
intensity of the sonar display. For nighttime view,
WESMAR recommends dimming all the white text
and removing the blue background color. See Menu
#3, this page. Note: If brightness knob is turned
completely CCW, the video will still come on during
self test, but then fade to a black screen. Simply turn
the brightness knob CW to the desired brightness.

SONAR "A" GAIN/RANGE
ADJUSTMENTS
5.1 Near Gain (Sonar)
Rotating this multi-turn control clockwise will increase
sensitivity of the sonar for the fi rst half of the displayed
range. Near Gain values 0-100 are displayed left of the
screen in the box titled NEAR.
Note: There are two sets of numbers in the NEAR box.
Numbers to the right correspond to the sonar Near Gain
control located on the right side of the front panel.
5.2 Far Gain (Sonar)
Rotating this multi-turn control clockwise will increase
sensitivity of the sonar for the last half of the displayed
range. Far Gain values 0-100 are displayed to the left
of the screen in the box titled FAR.
