POWER BOOSTER INSTALLATION

The power booster is optional equipment for the HD800
series with the exception of the HD800/27-15 (27 kHz).
Important: Before turning on the HD800/27-15 sonar the
power booster must be installed. Operating the HD800/27-
15 without the power booster for any length of time may
damage the console power supply.
Using the power booster on the HD800 systems will extend
your range capabilities. The power booster is a strong power
supply that supplies a large amount of current to the HD800
transmitter.
16.1 Power Booster Voltage
Operating voltage of the power booster is prewired at
the factory for 110VAC or 220VAC. Check the operating
voltage before connecting ships AC to the power booster.
To determine the correct voltage check the voltage se-
lect jumpers on the power booster board. Jumpers are
located top center below the four place terminal strip
16.2 Installing The Power Booster
The power booster should be installed within one meter
from the HD800 junction box. The interconnect cable
from the power booster to the junction box is two meters
long. Do no extend this cable.
16.3 Connecting Power to the Power Booster
From the factory the power booster is wired with a two
meter cable terminated with a U.S. type 110VAC plug.
Remove this plug and wire directly to ships AC supply.
Confi rm the ships AC supply is the same as the power
booster voltage select jumpers. Wire size must handle
3 amps at 110 VAC and 1.5 amps at 220VAC.
