The instructions in this section summarize the
more detailed build setup instructions in your
Build Setup application
You can set up a build
packet on the SLS
system computer or a
standalone PC. These
instructions are for
setup on a standalone
PC. After you learn
how to start up the
SLS system (which
comes later in
SLS
system start-up
on
page 61), you can
setup build packets on
the SLS system
computer if you wish.
To set up a build packet, you need to do the
following:
Run the
Build Setup
Build Setup is installed when you install the
LS Software on your PC. Install the LS
software now if you have not done so. To
install, insert the LS Software CD in your
standalone PC and follow the prompts.
Add STL files ("parts") to your build

There are advantages to
setting up your build
packet on a standalone
PC if you have several
different SLS systems.
For example, you can
create and preview
builds for more than
one SLS system model
(platform) on a single
computer. See

Reposition parts in build volume
Set "build" and "part" parameters
Save the build packet file.
Copy the build packet (.bpf ) file to your SLS

design (CAD) data saved in the
