NOTICE
Improperly tightened spark plug can
damage the engine. If a plug is too loose,
a piston may be damaged. If a plug is too
tight, the threads may be damaged.
8. Reinstall the spark plug cap. Take care
to avoid pinching any cables or wires.

VALVE CLEARANCE

Refer to the safety precautions on page 39.
Should be serviced by your Honda dealer,
unless the owner has the proper tools and
service data and is mechanically qualified.
Refer to the Official Honda Shop Manual.
Excessive valve clearance will cause noise
and eventual engine damage. Little or
no clearance will prevent the valve from
closing and cause valve damage and power
loss. Check the valve clearance at the
specified intervals when the engine is in
cold condition.
The checking or adjusting of the clearance
should be performed while the engine is
cold.

CB125 Shine SP
The clearance will change as the engine
temperature rises.
1. Remove the crankshaft hole cap (1) and
timing hole cap (2)
2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Rotate the flywheel counterclockwise
until the T Mark (3) on the flywheel
lines up with the Index Mark (4) on the
crankcase. In this position, the piston
may either be on the compression or
exhaust stroke.
