7. Cleaning and maintenance work

The ash produced by the combustion of wood pellets means that cleaning and
maintenance work must be repeated regularly.
Maintenance and repair work should only be implemented when the device is dis-
connected from the mains.

7.1. Cleaning the stove surfaces

Superficial contamination on the paint can be removed with water or, if necessary,
with mild soap suds.

7.2. Routine cleaning work

The following cleaning work must be implemented as necessary following a visual
check or according to schedule due to the ash that is produced when the pellets
are burnt.

7.2.1. Cleaning the burn grate and combustion chamber

Only the correct and clean condition of the burn grate can guarantee problem-free
operation of the pellet stove.
Deposits may form in the burn grate during operation. These must be removed as
quickly as is possible. A visual inspection, which must be carried out on a daily basis
(or at the latest when the pellets are topped up), will show whether the burn grate
needs to be cleaned (Fig. 7 and 8). The burn grate can remain in the stove for occa-
sional "light" cleaning. However, if the deposits cannot be easily removed, remove
the burn grate from the holder for thorough cleaning and remove all deposits.
