Gauges
WPG.. Working pressure gauge
P1 ...... Fuel level gauge
P2 ...... Engine oil pressure gauge
P3 ...... Hourmeter
P4 ...... Temperature gauge, engine coolant
P6 ...... Tachometer
Lamps
H1...... Alternator charging indicator lamp
Goes out after starting, indicating that the alternator is charging.
H2...... Low fuel level alarm lamp
Lights up if fuel is left for approximately half an hour of operation.
H3...... Air filter servicing lamp
Lights up if the air filter elements need servicing.
H25.... Check engine lamp
Lights up if a minor fault, controlled by the electronic control module
(ECM), occurs. The problem should be diagnosed and solved as soon
as possible.
H26.... Stop engine lamp
Lights up together with the check engine lamp (H25) if a major fault,
controlled by the electronic control module (ECM), occurs. In this
case, the engine shut down function is active.
H27.... Running loaded lamp
Lights up permanently when the unit is ready to load. When the lamp
flashes, the unit is warming up. When the lamp is out, the unit is in the
autoload status or is running loaded.
A
DDITIONAL CONTROLS AND INDICATORS
The compressor contains a number of controls and indicators which are not
situated on the control and indicator panel.
H22.... Flashing light
Located on the roof above the front service door. Starts flashing when
a fault occurs.
H23.... Horn (optional)
The horn in located on the air inlet baffle and is activated when a fault
occurs.
SG ..... Sight glass oil level
The sight glass is located next to the air receiver and indicates the oil
level in the air receiver.
TG...... Compressor element air outlet temperature gauge
Located behind the front service door and indicates the temperature of
the air at the outlet of the compressor element.
Y4 ...... Solenoid valve
Located on the discharge pipe of the regulating valve. If the valve is ac-
tivated, the unit will be in the LOAD or UNLOAD state.
S18 .... Pressure switch start prevention
Normal closed switch, located on the cover of the air receiver. It opens
if the pressure becomes higher than 23.2 psi.
ECM ...Electronic Control Module (DDEC IV)
The electronic control module is located on top of the engine. It moni-
tors and controls several engine sensors. Thanks to the signals coming
from the sensors, the ECM can command the engine to run as perform-
antly as possible. If one of the sensors indicates a major fault, the ECM
will stop the engine. If it concerns a minor fault, the ECM generates a
warning signal.
B11.....Pressure transducer
Located on the air inlet valve of the compressor. The pressure trans-
ducer measures the regulating pressure and sends an equivalent electri-
cal signal to the control unit. According to the electrical signal, the
control unit will communicate a speed setting to the ECM.
W
ARNING SWITCHES
The following warning switches, causing an indication on the instrument
panel in activated position, are provided:
S10.....Pressure switch air filter
Located in the airduct.
Normal open switch. Closes if the vacuum indicator detects too high a
vacuum.
S37:2..Low fuel level switch
Located in the level indicator on the fuel tank.
Normal open contact. Closes if fuel is left for approximately half an
hour of operation.
S
HUT DOWN SWITCHES AND SENSORS
The following shut down switches and sensors, causing the engine to stop
in activated position, are provided:
S7,8....Compressor element air outlet temperature shut down
switch
Sensing element on air outlet of compressor element. The indicator
scale and switch are located in the compressor element compartment.
Normal closed switch. Opens if the air outlet temperature exceeds the
setting of the switch.
S37:1..Low fuel level shut down switch
Located in the level indicator on the fuel tank.
Normal open contact. Closes if the fuel level becomes too low.
B12.....Engine coolant level sensor
Located in the toptank on top of the coolers.
The sensor reacts when the engine water level becomes too low.
S
ENSORS
The following sensors generate signals for the gauges located on the con-
trol and indicator panel:
B6.......Fuel level sensor
Located in the level indicator on the fuel tank.
B7.......Engine oil pressure sensor
Located on the engine.
B8.......Engine coolant temperature sensor
Located on the engine.
S
EPARATE DIAGNOSTIC SOCKET
X19.....DDR connector - Diagnostic data socket
Allows to connect the diagnostic data reader. Refer to chapter "Engine
diagnostic codes".
