The following list explains the content of this sample PCHID REPORT:
Feature code 0170 (HCA3-O LR (1xIFB)) is installed in CPC drawer 1 (location A21A, slot
LG07), and has AID 04 assigned.
Feature code 0172 (Integrated Coupling Adapter - ICA SR) is installed in CPC drawer 1
(location A21A, slot LG04), and has AID 1C assigned.
Feature code 0403 (Flash Express) is installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location A13B,
slot 01, and slot 14), with PCHID 100 and 12C assigned. Flash Express adapters are
always installed as a pair.
One feature code 0420 (zEDC Express) is installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location A13B,
slot 03), attached to resource group RG1, with PCHID 108 assigned. Another zEDC
Express is installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location A13B, slot 20), attached to RG2, with
PCHID 140 assigned.
Feature code 0413 (OSA Express5S GbE LX) is installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location
A13B, slot 06), with PCHID 110 assigned. The two ports D1 and D2 share a PCHID.
Feature code 0418 (FICON Express16S long wavelength (LX) 10 km (6.2 miles)) is
installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location A13B, slot 07). PCHID 114 is assigned to port D1
and 115 assigned to port D2.
One feature code 0411 (10GbE RoCE Express) is installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location
A13B, slot 18), attached to resource group RG1, with PCHID 138 assigned and shared by
port D0 and D1. Another 10GbE RoCE Express is installed in PCIe I/O drawer 1 (location
A13B, slot 37), attached to resource group RG2, with PCHID 178 assigned.
An RG parameter is shown in the PCHID REPORT for native PCIe features. The native PCIe
features have a balanced plugging between two resource groups (RG1 and RG2).
For more information about resource groups, see Appendix G, "Native Peripheral Component
Interconnect Express" on page 521.

4.8 Connectivity

I/O channels are part of the CSS. They provide connectivity for data exchange between
servers, or between servers and external control units (CUs) and devices, or between
networks.
Communication between servers is implemented by using ICA SR, coupling over InfiniBand,
or channel-to-channel (CTC) connections.
Communication to LANs is provided by the OSA-Express5S, OSA-Express4S, and 10GbE
RoCE Express features.
Connectivity to external I/O subsystems, disks for example, is provided by FICON channels.
