4.11 EWF

The Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) is a tool that protects the Compact Flash memory from
unnecessary writes and also extends the life of the Compact Flash by avoiding excessive writes to
non-volatile memory.
The EWF redirects data that is to be written to the Compact Flash to the RAM cache. This data
must then be written into the Compact Flash memory if it is to be available after a shut down or a
reboot. The EWF provides tools to write the data from the RAM cache into the Compact Flash
memory.
To save all data at shutdown, double-tap the EWF icon
Reference: The EWF can also be accessed through the following commands:
Command
ewfmgr c:
ewfmgr c: -enable
ewfmgr c: -commit
ewfmgr c: -commitanddisable
Note: If the EWF is not executed before your VisionPlate is shut down, all changes and
modifications made to the VisionPlate, including application installs, network setting changes, and
bookmark modifications, will not be in effect upon rebooting.
