4 Using Your VisionPlate with Windows XP embedded
Your VisionPlate comes pre-installed with an embedded Linux operating system or a Microsoft
Windows XP embedded operating system. This section describes basic functionality of pre-installed
Microsoft XP embedded models.
4.1 Windows Toolbar Overview
The Windows toolbar for Microsoft Windows XP embedded has four distinct areas: The Start
Menu area, the Quick Launch area, the Active window area, and the Notification area. These
areas are shown in the following illustration:
