GENERAL INFORMATION

SAFETY - ACCIDENT PREVENTION

Nilfisk uses the following symbols to indicate potentially dangerous situations. Always read carefully this
information and take the necessary precautions to protect people and objects.
DANGER !
Indicates the risk of being injured or the risk of death.
WARNING !
Indicates the risk of being injured.
CAUTION !
Indicates the risk of light injuries to people, machine or other objects.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

Specific warnings and cautions to inform about potential damages to people and machine are shown below.
WARNING!
To perform maintenance/repair procedures turn the machine ignition key to OFF position,
activate the parking brake and disconnect the battery.
This machine must be used by qualified and authorized personnel only.
Keep the battery far from sparks, flames and smoke. During the normal operation explosive
gases are delivered.
Do not wear jewels when working near electrical components.
Do not work under the lifted machine if it is not securely fixed.
Do not operate the machine near inflammable liquids or vapors.
Make sure the hood support rod is securely fixed when working under the open hood.
Instructions for petrol version engines:
– Do not refuel the machine in closed or not ventilated areas.
– Do not smoke and do not bring naked flames in the area where the machine is refueled.
– Do not fill the fuel tank completely; there must be no fuel at the tank entry.
– Check that the fuel tank cap is correctly closed.
– After each refueling, clean the tank area and allow the vapors to dissipate before starting
the engine.
– Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide, a very poisonous gas that is odorless and
colorless; avoid inhaling it. Do not keep the engine running in a not ventilated room.
– Do not incline the engine more than 20° or the fuel can come out of the tank.
