Backup

It is recommended that you have a regular backup strategy. Your IT department may
already have a backup strategy in place which is suitable for the instrument and its
data. Using the Instrument Recovery system in conjunction with a regular backup
strategy should allow full recovery of the instrument data.
Windows has a Backup utility that you can use to archive files and folders in case of a
disk drive failure. See the Windows Help and Support Center for more information on
this utility. You can also use third party backup utilities. However, you must ensure
that this third party software is compatible with the instrument's system software.
See
When performing backups, we recommend that you backup the data to an external
storage device connected to the network or one of the instrument's USB connectors.
Also, you should perform backups at times when the instrument is not being used for
normal operations, as it may impact the instrument's overall performance.

System Restore

Windows contains the capability to restore the system to a previous point in time.
System Restore is enabled with default settings as provided by Microsoft. However,
System Restore is not always 100% successful. Therefore, it is not recommended
that you rely on System Restore to protect your instrument. System Restore has not
been tested to verify successful restoring.

Disk Defragmenting

The instrument has a solid state drive. Disk defragmenting is not recommended.
