A.6 Loss of your Residential Gateway's password and IP address
If the password protecting the configuration is lost, it won't be possible to connect to the
Residential Gateway anymore. Similarly, if your Residential Gateway's IP address is lost,
communication by HTTP with the equipment becomes impossible.
To recover the default password (admin) and the IP address of your Residential Gateway,
restore the factory configuration (see section A.8).
A.7 Reinitialising your router
To Reinitialise your router, click on the "Reboot" button, at the top right of the welcome page of
your HTTP configurator.
When you click this button, LEDs "Data" and "Power" get off, then the LED "Link" get off and the
LED "Power" lights at the same moment, finally the process of initialisation starts (flickering then
lighting of the LED "Link" then lighting of the LED "Data"). It lasts approximately a minute.
Note : The green "Link" (ADSL) and "Ethernet" or "USB (LAN) LEDs light if the relevant
ports are connected.
The " Data " LED (Internet) lights in green if "PPP" link is established.
A.8 Re-establishing the factory configuration
To undertake the procedure, there are two possibilities:
1) Using the HTTP configurator
•
In the welcome screen of your HTTP configurator, select the heading Management
followed by the sub-menu Restore Default in the Settings menu (cf. 5.10.1.3).
2) Using the "Reset" push-button
•
press the "Reset" push-button for at least 15 seconds; LEDs "Data" and "Power" get off,
then the LED "Link" get off and the LED "Power" lights at the same moment, finally the
process for returning to the factory configuration starts (flickering then lighting of the LED
"Link" then lighting of the LED "Data").
This operation deletes the entire personalised configuration of your
router: Password, Configuration, etc. It lasts for around 2 minutes.
After a return to factory configuration, it is necessary to install your router again
using the installation CD-ROM, or to enter again the ADSL connection data supplied
by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) (cf. Internet Connection section - § 5.6).
