Sensor mode

The system is operated exclusively using the measurement sensor:
• The user's skin type is determined by 2 readings taken using a cali-
brated sensor (calibration: see page 43).
• The output from the UV lamps is optimised for the skin type reading.
• The power of the UV high voltage lamps can be reduced manually.
• The individual dosage for the user is calculated from the readings and
the sunbed session time is set automatically.
• The session time can also be preset (see Presets -33- on page 100).
The solarium will then attempt to achieve this preset time exactly. In
most cases, the right lamp configuration for the preset session time
can be calculated. In some cases, the system will switch off earlier,
e.g. because if the user is fair-skinned, the individual dose will only be
achieved with a shorter session time. Longer session times are also
possible, perhaps to compensate for the lower power output of older
UV low voltage lamps.

Timer with sensor mode

If the system is operated with a timer (e.g. with a coin device), the session
time (insertion for a given dose) and the actual exposure may differ.
You must note whether the actual session time can be shorter or longer
than the session time preset in the system. The session time can be set
to between 0 and 20 minutes; the factory preset is 0 minutes – see pre-
sets on page 100. At this preset, each user receives his individual dose
in the shortest possible time.
For really accurate billing of the dose, we recommend using the ICS (In-
dividual Cash System) timer.
