The RS81 Dual Station system
E04572
The RS81 and RS82 offer an extremely flexible approach to sin-
gle and dual station VHF radios. The RS81 consists of an RS80B
transceiver "black box" with an AHS81 voice-only active hand-
set with built-in loudspeaker. The RS82 utilises the same trans-
ceiver, but is supplied with an AHS82 DSC-enabled active
handset and separate external speaker. Both the AHS81 and
AHS82 are completely interchangeable and offer full intercom
facility between stations (Fig 1.1).
In any system combination that has an AHS82 handset the
radio will accept geographical position input via the propri-
etary SimNet data network, or via NMEA0183. Such a combi-
nation will also support iDSC interface with Simrad Chartplot-
ters, enabling any DSC alerts to be displayed and acknowl-
edged from the plotter itself.
