Use VIDEO CDs or
Turn on your TV and select
DVDs
the video input.
Cancel karaoke mode
Turn MIC LEVEL to
"MIN", disconnect the
microphone from the MIC
1 or/and MIC 2 jack, then
press KARAOKE/MPX on
the remote repeatedly until
"m" disappears.
Adjust the microphone
Turn ECHO LEVEL to
echo
adjust the echo effect. To
cancel the echo effect, turn
ECHO LEVEL to "MIN".
Adjust the pitch of
Press KEY CONTROL #

or 2 on the remote to suit
your vocal range. You can
adjust the key higher or
lower in 13 halftone steps
(26 ~ #6).
Notes
• With some songs, vocals may not be canceled when
you select "KARAOKE PON".
• If you select "KARAOKE PON", the instrumental
sound may be reduced together with the singer's
voice when the sound is recorded in monaural.
• You will not hear any sound output from the
microphone when the tape deck is performing the
AMS function.
• When the microphone is connected, or the karaoke
mode or KEY CONTROL is activated, the sound
field is changed to LINK if the current sound field is
SBS MULTI, A.F.D. AUTO, PRO LOGIC, PLII
MOVIE or PLII MUSIC. The sound field is changed
to HP 2CH if the current sound field is HP
VIRTUAL.
• If the disc changes, karaoke mode is canceled.
• Karaoke mode and KEY CONTROL is canceled
when you change from DVD function to another
function.
• The singer's voice may not be reduced when:
– only a few instruments are playing.
– a duet is being played back.
– the source has strong echoes or chorus.
– the singer's voice deviates from the center.
– the voice on the source is singing in high soprano
or tenor.
Tip
You cannot select KARAOKE PON, MPX L or
MPX R for disc with JPEG image files.
Mixing and recording
sounds
You can "mix" sounds from any one of the
function and singing or speaking into a
microphone.
The mixed sound can be recorded on a tape.
Use the buttons on the unit for the operation.

Turn MIC LEVEL to "MIN" to turn down
the microphone volume.

Connect an optional microphone to the
MIC 1 or MIC 2 jack.

Insert a recordable tape in deck B.

Press FUNCTION or TUNER/BAND
repeatedly to select the source you
want to record.

Press REC PAUSE/START.
The REC PAUSE/START indicator
flashes. Deck B stands by for recording.
If you want to record on the reverse side,
press h (TAPE B).

Press DIRECTION repeatedly to select
"g" to record on one side. Select
"j" (or "RELAY") to record on both
sides.

Press REC PAUSE/START.
The REC PAUSE/START indicator lights
up.
Recording starts.

Start playing the source to be
recorded.
Start singing along with the music and
adjust the microphone volume by turning
MIC LEVEL.
To stop recording
Press x (TAPE B).
After you have finished
Turn MIC LEVEL to "MIN" and disconnect the
microphone from the MIC 1 or MIC 2 jack.
