Creating a party
environment
You can create a party environment by using
X-ROUND for "moving" sound effect or/and
FLASH for flashing effect.
To enjoy the X-ROUND mode, place your front
and surround speakers at an equal distance from
your listening position (see Example 1 of
"Positioning the speakers" on page 11).
Use the buttons on the unit for the operation.
Moving sound effect
— X-ROUND

Press X-ROUND ON/OFF repeatedly
until the X-ROUND indicator lights up.
The last selected X-ROUND mode appears
in the display.

Press MODE repeatedly to select the
X-ROUND mode you want.
The display changes cyclically as follows:

You can manually change the sound movement
from one speaker to another speaker by turning
JOG.

You can change the speed of sound movement
by turning JOG.

To cancel the X-ROUND effect
Press X-ROUND ON/OFF repeatedly until
"X-ROUND OFF" appears in the display. The
X-ROUND indicator turns off.
Notes
• If you cannot get the sound effect you want, check
the speaker connections.
• When the headphones are connected to the PHONES
jack, X-ROUND mode automatically turns off.
• When X-ROUND mode is turned on, the sound field
is automatically changed to "LINK" if the current
sound field is not "LINK" or "LINK SURROUND".
• When X-ROUND mode is selected, you can only
change the sound field between "LINK" and "LINK
SURROUND".
• You cannot turn on X-ROUND mode when
– the headphones are connected.
– the SURROUND setting is set to "NONE"
(page 39).
Flashing sound effect
— FLASH
With the flash function, you can flash the sound
output. The sound cuts off periodically.
Hold down FLASH during playback.
The flashing effect is activated.
To cancel the flashing effect
Release FLASH.
To change the flash speed
Hold down FLASH and turn JOG clockwise or
counterclockwise to change the flash speed
(1 ~ 20).
Tips
• You can activate the X-ROUND and FLASH effect
simultaneously.
• The power illuminator will synchronize with the
selected FLASH effect.
