PRO LOGIC: Performs Pro Logic decoding.
The source recorded in 2 channels is decoded
into 4.1 channels.
PLII MOVIE: Performs Pro Logic II Movie
mode decoding. This setting is ideal for movies
encoded in Dolby Surround. In addition, this
mode can reproduce sound in 5.1 channels when
watching videos of overdubbed or old movies.
PLII MUSIC: Performs Pro Logic II Music
mode decoding. This setting is ideal for normal
stereo sources such as audio CDs.
LINK: Reproduces the surround channels from
the front channels.
LINK SURROUND: Reproduces the surround
channels from the front channels with surround
effect.
2CH STEREO: Reproduces stereo output from
multi channel sources such as DVDs during
DVD function. The system outputs the original
sound during functions other than DVD.
2CH SURROUND: Reproduces stereo output
with surround effect from multi channel sources
such as DVDs during DVD function. The
system outputs the original sound with surround
effect during functions other than DVD.
HP 2CH: The normal sound field for
headphones.
HP SURROUND: The sound field for
headphones with surround effect.
HP VIRTUAL: The sound field for headphones
with virtual surround effect.
To directly select Dolby Pro Logic
II sound fields
Press DOLBY PL II on the unit repeatedly to
select "PLII MOVIE" or "PLII MUSIC".
Note
For some disc, the surround effect may not be as much
as expected.
Tips
• When "LINK" or "LINK SURROUND" is selected,
"LINK" lights up in the display.
• When sound fields with surround effect is selected,
"SURR" lights up in the display.
• When "HP VIRTUAL" is selected, "VIRTUAL"
lights up in the display.
• When Pro Logic decoding is performed, "PRO
LOGIC" lights up in the display.
• When Pro Logic II Movie mode or Pro Logic II
Music mode decoding is performed, "PRO LOGIC
II" lights up in the display.
• When X-ROUND mode is turned on, the sound field
is automatically changed to "LINK" if the current
sound field is not "LINK" or "LINK SURROUND".
• When X-ROUND mode is selected, you can only
change the sound field between "LINK" and "LINK
SURROUND".
• When "SPEAKERS A" is selected, the sound field is
automatically changed to "2CH STEREO" if the
current sound field is not "2CH STEREO" or "2CH
SURROUND".
• When "SPEAKERS A+B" is selected, the sound
field is automatically changed to "LINK".
• When "2CH STEREO" is selected, the Multi Room
setting is automatically changed to "SPEAKERS A".
