The montor swtch acton cuts off the squelch functon tem-
porarly. Ths swtch acton contans PUSH (Pu) or HOLD
(Ho) settngs as shown below.
• PU (PUSH): After pushng [SQL•
opens and emts audo. The squelch s held open
whle contnuously pushng and holdng [SQL•
(default)
• HO (HOLD): After pushng [SQL•
opens and emts audo even [SQL•
To close the squelch, push any swtch.

D Backlighting function "bL"
Ths functon s convenent for nghttme operaton. The back-
lghtng brghtness can be adjusted from OFF, 1 (dark)–3
(brght); 3 (default). Select 1–3 to turn ths functon ON.
• The automatc backlghtng turns the backlghtng ON when any key
except for [PTT] s pushed.
• The backlghtng s automatcally turned OFF after 5 sec. of nactvty.
