The Genie Z-30/20N may not reverse while driving forward fine due to several possible issues:

1. Electrical Contactors – A faulty or stuck contactor may prevent the machine from engaging reverse. Checking and testing the electrical contactors is recommended.
2. Drive Control Handle – If the drive control handle does not properly send signals in reverse, it could be malfunctioning or misaligned.
3. Hydraulic System Issues – The hydraulic pump or valves may not be engaging properly in reverse mode. Checking hydraulic flow and pressure could help diagnose the problem.
4. Turntable Rotation Stop Test – If the system detects an issue with movement limits, it may restrict reverse operation. Running a diagnostic check can help identify this.
5. Emergency Stop or Key Switch – If not fully reset or engaged correctly, the system might not allow reverse movement.

A thorough inspection of these components would be necessary to determine the exact cause.
