Safety Instructions - Read before use

Basic safety instructions

• This appliance is not intended
for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and know-
ledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction
concerning use of appliance by a
person responsible for their
safety.
• Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
• Be sure your range is installed
and grounded properly by a
qualified installer or service
technician.
• If the supply cord damaged, it
must be replaced by a special
cord or assembly available from
the manufacturer or its service
agent or similarly qualified per-
sons.
WARNING: Never use your
appliance for warming or heating
the room.
• Do not repair or replace any part
of the appliance unless specifi-
cally recommended in the ma-
nual. All other servicing should
be referred to a qualified techni-
cian.
CAUTION: Use proper pan
size - this appliance is equipped
with one or more surface units of
different size. Select utensils
having flat bottoms large enough
to cover the surface unit heating
element. The use of undersized
utensils will expose a portion of
the heating element to direct
contact and may result in igni-
tion of clothing. Proper relation-
ship of utensil to heating ele-
ment will also improve efficiency.
WARNING: Never leave sur-
face units unattended at high
heat settings. Boil over causes
smoking and greasy spill overs
that may ignite.
CAUTION: Do not use alu-
minum foil to line drip pans or
anywhere in the oven, except as
described in this manual. Foil
can trap heat or melt, resulting
in damage to the product and a
shock or fire hazard.
WARNING: Glazed cooking
utensils - only certain types of
glass, glass/ceramic, ceramic,
earthenware, or other glazed
utensils are suitable for range-
top service without breaking due
to the sudden change in tem-
perature.
