Suspending a channel from a scanning group
If a member channel of a scan group is busy for a long time
and you do not wish to hear the conversation, you may be
able to use the function key programmed for nuisance delete
to temporarily delete it from the scan group.
32 Operating in conventional mode
If standard scan is active and there has been no recent
activity on the channel (the amber LED is glowing rather
than flashing), then the channel that is called depends on
the way your radio has been programmed. The possible
options are:
— your radio calls a predetermined channel e.g.
your dispatcher,
— your radio calls the channel where activity was
last detected, or
— your radio calls the last free channel.
When the called party responds, proceed with
your conversation.
Select Menu>Group Settings>
Scan Key Scans.
In the Scan Key Scans menu, scroll
through the list of background scan
groups until the group you
want appears.
Press Select.
The message Scan key scans selected
group appears in the display.
The next time you activate background
scan, the new group will be your background scan group.
