8.1.2 Exercising the Relays
Relay output channels can be tested by forcing the relays to an active state:
1) Ensure that relay activated output systems (i.e. emergency deluge / sirens etc.) are isolated before
starting the test.
2) Login as an Administrator or Engineer.
3) Select Menu>System test>Force Relay.
4) Select the Relay module to be tested, and toggle it off and on for the specific relay channel.
5) Check the relay out contact using a voltmeter.
6) Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all relay output channels.
7) Proceed to the next step.
8.1.3 Exercising the mA Output
mA output channels can be tested by forcing the mA output:
1) Ensure that relay activated output systems (i.e. emergency deluge / sirens etc.) are isolated before
starting the test.
2) Login as an Administrator or Engineer.
3) Select the Menu>System test>Force 4-20mA.
4) Select the channel to be tested and set the mA output value. Touch 'Apply'.
5) Check the mA output level using an ammeter.
6) Repeat steps 2 and 4 for all relay output channels.
7) Select 'Finish' when the tests are completed.
8.1.4 Exercising the Audio/Visual Alarm
Audio/visual alarm can be tested by forcing signal out:
1) Ensure that relay activated output systems (i.e. emergency deluge / sirens etc.) are isolated before
starting the test.
2) Login as an Administrator or Engineer.
3) Select the Menu>System test >Dedicated Alarm Contacts.
4) Toggle the alarm selector button off and on for each output (see below).
5) Check the voltage level using a voltmeter.
6) Select 'Finish' when the tests are completed.
Maintenance
Ensure that the system is returned to normal operation once testing is complete.
