8.4 How to Add a New I/O Module

The Touchpoint Plus system can easily be expanded by adding new I/O modules.
Antistatic Precautions are required to prevent severe damage to electronic components.
Note: A module that has previously been configured in one system cannot be added to another system,
unless it was correctly removed from the original system's configuration.
1) Switch off the Touchpoint Plus (Select Menu>Maintenance> Power off).
2) Isolate the power supplies and switch the battery to 'Off' (if there is a back-up battery installed).
3) Fit the new module of the required type to an empty slot, ensuring that that the module is the correct way
up and with the label towards you.
4) Electrically connect the new module.
5) Switch the battery to 'On' (if there is a back-up battery installed).
6) Switch on the TouchPoint Plus.
7) Login as an Administrator or Engineer.
8) Select the Menu>Configuration>Module Control Panel.
9)
Select an empty block corresponding to the new module and touch 'Add'.
10) Commission each channel in turn.

8.5 How to Decommission and Remove an I/O Module

Note: Failing to follow this procedure correctly could render the removed module unusable.
If the relays are switching mains voltages, hazardous live terminals may be present within the Relay Output
Antistatic Precautions are required to prevent severe damage to electronic components.
To remove a module:
1) Login as an Administrator or Engineer.
2) Select Menu>Configuration>Module Control panel.
3) Select the I/O module block that you want to remove, and touch 'Remove'.
4) Switch off the Touchpoint Plus (Menu>Maintenance>Power off).
5) Isolate the power supplies and switch the battery to 'Off' (if there is a back-up battery installed).
6) Electrically disconnect the module, and then remove it (see Ch. 8.4 above if you want to replace it with
another module).
7) Switch the battery to 'On' (if there is a back-up battery installed).
8) Switch on the TouchPoint Plus.
