7.14.3.3 Light Source Presets

The light from different light sources used for image acquisition can differ in color temperature.
Thereby, specific color shifts in the image can occur. You can correct for a specific color shift by
selecting, if availabe, a matching light source preset.
When selecting light source presets the following settings are available:
Off - No light source preset is selected. In addition, no gamma correction is automatically
applied (accordingly, the Gamma parameter value is set to 1). Basler recommends setting the
Gamma parameter value to 0.45. This parameter value adjusts the pixel values for correct
color reproduction on an sRGB monitor without, however, taking account of a specific light
source.
Daylight 5000 K - This light source preset makes appropriate color corrections for images
captured with daylight lighting with a color temperature of about 5000 K. Daylight 5000 K is the
default light source preset after camera reset or power up.
Daylight 6500 K - This light source preset makes appropriate color corrections for images
captured with daylight lighting with a color temperature of about 6500 K.
Tungsten 2800 K - This light source preset makes appropriate color corrections for images
captured with tungsten incandescent lighting with a color temperature of about 2500 K to
3000 K.
When the Daylight 5000 K, Daylight 6500 K or Tungsten 2800 K light source preset is selected, the
following color enhancement mechanisms operate automatically:
The parameter values for "manual" white balance are modified (BalanceRatio parameter
values for red, green, and blue; see
The color transformation matrix is populated with the coefficients that are appropriate for the
light source.
The parameter values for the Color Adjustment feature are modified (hue, saturation).
A gamma correction value of approximately 0.45 is automatically applied to adjust the pixel
values for correct color reproduction on an sRGB display. Note that the Gamma parameter
value is not affected. Make sure it remains set to 1.
