AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANUAL PROPELLER
GOVERNOR CHECK
A.
Set power lever to IDLE.
B.
Feather propeller.
C.
Ng should not change more than 100 RPM.

MAX PROPELLER SPEED CHECK

A.
Set propeller control lever to obtain 100% Np or 1700 RPM
B.
Adjust MAX SPEED stop adjuster screw (10) as necessary.
OVERSPEED GOVERNOR CHECK
The overspeed governor is set to govern at 104% Np or approximately 1768 RPM and should not
normally require re-adjustment. To check:
A.
Move the propeller control lever to MAX INCREASE.
B.
Increase power to obtain 1600 RPM.
C.
Do not exceed engine torque limit during this check.
D.
Hold propeller test switch in PROP GOV TEST.
E.
Advance power control lever until RPM stabilizes. Overspeed governing should hold stable
rpm indication of 1598 ± 20 RPM.
F.
Return power lever to I DLE and release the propeller test switch.

FEATHERING CHECK

A.
Set propeller control lever to MAX INCREASE.
B.
Set power control lever at IDLE.
C.
Set condition lever at LOW I DLE.
D. Pull propeller power control lever aft., past the GROUND OPERATION PROPELLER PITCH
STOP detent, to the after most position and observe that the propeller begins to feather.
REVERSE MAX POWER CHECK (Figure 4-4)
A.
Fuel Condition Lever – HIGH IDLE
B.
Propeller Control Lever – MAX INCREASE
C.
Power Lever - Pull slowly from IDLE to REVERSE.
E.
Propeller speed rises to and steady between 1580 and 1650 RPM.
F.
Torque should be in the range of 8.5 to 9.5 psi.
