NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket or cable. The hard drive bracket
and cable are included in the Hard Drive Kit, spare part number 808238-001.

500-GB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 7.0-mm hard drive
500-GB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 8-GB hybrid, 7.0-mm, solid-state hard drive
Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation,
turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the hard drive:
1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the hard drive cable is connected, and then disconnect the hard
drive cable from the system board.
2. Use the tab (2) to lift the front edge of the hard drive (3) until it rests at an angle.
3. Remove the hard drive (4) by sliding it up and forward at an angle.
4. If it is necessary to replace the hard drive bracket, separate the left and right sides of the bracket (1)
from the hard drive, and then remove the hard drive bracket (2).
