The ZOLL AED 3
defibrillator is an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) that
is designed to be used for both adult and child victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
The defibrillator incorporates a sequence of audio and visual prompts to help
rescuers follow established current AHA/ERC/ILCOR Guidelines for use of AEDs.
This guide provides information about the operation and care of the
ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator. The ZOLL AED 3 Administrator's Guide is to be used by
trained medical personnel in conjunction with the ZOLL AED 3 Operator's
Manual.
This guide contains the following sections:
Chapter 1—Overview describes a general product overview of the
ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator.
Chapter 2—Data Transfer provides instructions on how to transfer data that
is stored on the AED.
Chapter 3—Maintenance provides the recommended procedures for
evaluating the condition and performance of the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator.
Chapter 4—Troubleshooting describes possible problems and solutions and
lists the error log messages that indicate the AED requires technical service.

Appendix A—Contains specification information and the ZOLL
Rectilinear
TM
Biphasic
waveforms that are produced when the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator is
discharged into loads of 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, and 175 ohms at each energy
setting (200, 150, 120, 85, 70, and 50 joules).
Appendix B—Contains a list of accessories for the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator.
