8. After approximately two minutes of CPR, verify that the STOP CPR prompt is
issued. Set the simulator to Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR) and verify that a
new ECG analysis begins.
9. Verify that a NO SHOCK ADVISED prompt is issued.
10. Turn off the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator and the simulator.

Test Procedure (ZOLL AED 3 Automatic Models)

NOTE You must use the ZOLL AED Simulator with this test.
1. Connect the ZOLL AED Simulator to the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillation pads
connector.
2. Power on the simulator and the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator. Verify that all of
the following occur:
The status indicator (located on the top left of the AED) initially changes
from blank to a green check (
turned on.
The AED issues the UNIT OK voice prompt and displays the message within
5 seconds after power-up.
The AED displays the number of shocks in the bottom left of the screen and
the event elapsed time (since power-up) in the bottom right of the LCD
screen.
3. Using the simulator, input a VF rhythm to the AED. Verify that after the AED
proceeds through its sequence of victim assessment prompts, it does the
following:
Analyzes the ECG rhythm.
Issues the SHOCK ADVISED voice prompt.
Charges the defibrillator.
Issues the DON'T TOUCH THE PATIENT; SHOCK WILL BE DELIVERED IN
THREE, TWO, ONE voice prompt.
4. Verify that the AED emits the charge ready tone and the AED automatically
delivers a shock.
5. Following shock delivery, verify the following:
The AED issues the SHOCK DELIVERED message.
The simulator shows that a shock was delivered.
The number 1 displays next to the shock icon on the bottom left of the AED
LCD screen.
The AED issues the START CPR messages.
6. Activate the simulator's CPR function. Verify that the metronome begins to
beep and that the following voice prompts/messages are issued within 60
seconds: PUSH HARDER followed by GOOD COMPRESSIONS.
7. After approximately two minutes of CPR, verify that the STOP CPR prompt is
issued. Set the simulator to Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR) and verify that a
new ECG analysis begins.
