9.2.13 Forms Feed Motor/Emitter
Disassembly

Turn power off at the operator control
panel.
Remove the forms feed motor/emitter from
the side frame (9.2.12).
Remove the emitter outer cover

Loosen the disk/gear clamping hub

Remove the two adjusting screws

the back of the base.
Remove the screw that holds the photocell
assembly

Do not pry on the slotted disk; doing so
will bend or scratch it.
Remove the inner cover

and the disk/
gear assembly from the motor shaft by
prying up on the motor gear as illustrated. - -
Remove the clip

that holds the idler

and I ift off the gear.
Remove

three screws
a
plus one bolt
and nut

that fasten the base

to the
stepper motor

To reassemble the motor/emitter, use the
reassembly procedure.

Install the three screws

Do not tighten the screws
and bolt now.
Install the idler gear

and the retaining
clip

so that the idler has 0.002 inch to
0.010 inch (0.05 mm to 0.25 mm) end play.
Install the inner cover mwith the two
adjusting screws

finger tight.

Place the photocell assembly

on the
disk/gear assembly

and sl ide them onto
the motor shaft.
Secure the photocell assembly with its
mounting screw.
Center the forms feed emitter disk in the
slot. Avoid scratching the black paint from
around the disk slots. A 0.030 inch (0.76
mm) feeler gauge should slide freely on the
upper side of the disk. Check clearance at
several points on the disk.
Tighten the clamping hub

and recheck
the clearance.
Rotate the base
ID
on the motor to obtain
a slight backlash between the idler gear

and motor gear

flush to 0.006 inch
(0.15 mm) estimated.
Tighten the screws and nut, and check back-
lash in several positions of the idler gear.

I nstall the outer cover

Install the motor/emitter assembly in the
printer (9.2.12).
