5.5 Hexadecimal dump

This function is used to diagnose the characters received through the communication port; the characters are printed
out both as hexadecimal codes and ASCII codes.
Once the self-test routine has fi nished, the printer enters Hexadecimal Dump mode. The printer remains in standby
until a key is pressed or characters are received through the communication port. For example, in the 200 dpi model,
for every 8 characters received, the hexadecimal and corresponding ASCII codes are printed out (if the characters
are underlined, the receive buffer is full). Shown below is an example of a Hexadecimal Dump:

Setting of the performing of the print head test:
Disabled D = the test is performed only during the printing of the setup report
Enabled = the test is performed at each power on
Setting of the data logger function on the LOG folder on the Flash memory:
D
Disabled = data logger function disabled
Text = the printed text is stored in .txt fi le
Graphic = the printed graphic is stored in .bmp fi le
Text + Graphic = both text and graphic are stored in .txt and .bmp fi les
NOTE: The parameter is printed only with VKP80III emulation enabled.
NOTE: The name of the fi rst text fi le stored will be 00000001.txt; the name of the fi rst graphic fi le stored
will be 00000001.bmp; the fi le number is incremented automatically, when there is no more space, the
oldest fi les are deleted.
