13, Troubleshooting

If the engine is defective, perform diagnosis by referring to the following table and then taking the
appropriate action.

Treatment
Put the safety switch to the [start up]
position.
When cooling the engine, put the choke
bar in the
position.
Inspect fuel tank, remove impure
deposits or water.
Remove the fuel valve strainer and clean
out any sediment deposited inside the
cap together with any other attached dirt.
Remove foreign objects, inspect
fastening bands, replace damaged parts
with new ones.
Use the correct oil depending on the
outside temperature.
Replace the ignition coil or unit.

Inspect the gap between spark plug
electrodes and adjust.
Replace with new spark plug.
Refuel the machine.
Clean the element.
Replace with good quality fuel.
Return the choke bar completely. Put it
in the
position.
Clean around the recoil starter.
Refuel the machine.
Open the fuel valve.
Replace with good quality fuel.
Adjust to correct fuel level
Clean the element.
Return the choke bar completely. Put it
in the
position.
Adjust to correct fuel level
Replace the ring.

Replace with good quality fuel.
Replace the ignition coil.
