POWER-ON SELF TEST

5.5 POWER-ON SELF TEST
This self diagnostic test requires a loop-back connector (P/N: G0219350).
1. Turn off the machine and attach the loop-back connector to the parallel
interface.
2. Turn on the machine while pressing the "On Line" key and "# Enter" key
together.
3. The machine prints the diagnostic report automatically.
• Refer to section 5.3.1 for how to check the error codes (Engine service mode
– Diag result)
• Refer to section 4.2 for details about the error codes.

5.6 OTHER TESTS

The controller tests the following devices at power-on. If an error is detected, an
error code is stored in the controller board.
• CPU, ASIC and clock
• Flash ROM
• Resident and optional SDRAM
• Parallel interface
• NIB
• IEEE1394 interface (if installed)
• NVRAM
• Optional HDD (if installed)
• Refer to section 5.3.1 for how to check the error codes (Engine service mode -
Diag result)
• Refer to section 4.2 for details about the error codes.
