4. Put the knife into the second knife notch. As soon as the cutting edge
touches the grinding stone, start pulling the knife towards you until it is fully
pulled out of the knife notch.
5. Check whether the knife is sharpened sufficiently and repeat the
sharpening process if necessary. Switch off the motor unit with the ON/OFF
switch in direction O.
Replacement Grinding Discs
Replacement grinding discs for sharpening knives can be ordered from
Westfalia under der article no. 84 77 39.
Attention! Changing the grinding discs may be carried out by a professional
only!

Using as Grinder

1. Install the attachment for sharpening
plane blades and chisels on the
motor unit.
2. Put the blade or the chisel on the
rest surface (B3). Make sure the
rest surface does not touch the
grinding stone.
3. The sharpening
adjusted with the adjusting screw
(B4) for the rest surface (B3). To do
so, untighten the adjusting screw and tilt the rest surface to the desired
position. The cutting edge of the tool to be processed may touch the
surface of the grinding disc only slightly. The angle between the tool to be
processed and the grinding stone must correspond to the original angle of
the tool.
4. If necessary re-adjust the position of the spark deflector (B6) by using the
adjusting screw (B5).
5. Switch on the motor unit with the ON/OFF switch (A1).
6. Press the tool to be processed slightly against the grinding stone and move
the tool evenly back and forth; otherwise the cutting edge will be sharpened
unevenly.
