DRIVING BEHAVIOR

Drive especially carefully during your
first journey!!
Bearing this in mind, set the pre-selecta-
ble final speed to the lowest setting.
Press the minus key [24] on the key field
of the control box (see 'Pre-operation
Checks').
!
Attention:
Please observe the Safety Instruc-
tions!
You determine the speed and driving
direction yourself when driving through
the movement of the joystick [35] and
the maximum top speed setting of your
wheelchair.
When reversing with the joystick leaning
to the left, your wheelchair makes a
right turn.
A reversal of the steering direction is,
with certain manoeverabiltiy restrictions,
possible by reprogramming..
+
Negotiating curbs
Curbs can be negotiated with the
detachable curb aid Code 862.
Please observe the operating man-
ual which is supplied with Code
862.
Braking the wheelchair
The wheelchair stops when you let go of
the joystick. Always ensure an adequate
braking distance when applying the
wheelchair brakes.
+
Remark:
Depending on the nature of the driving
surface and speed, the shortest braking
distance is:
approx. 1 m for the 6 km/h version
andmin. of 1.5 m for the 10 km/h ver-
sion.
For this reason, ensure that you brake
the wheelchair in good time when you
encounter other people or obstacles.
Attention:
!
Braking
the
wheelchair
traveling downhill at high speed can
cause it to skid. – Danger of acci-
dents!
• When traveling downhill, select a
low speed!
• Avoid jerky adjustments to driving
status when negotiating hills, trans-
verse slopes and obstacles.
• Especially avoid tight turning and
jerky braking on inclines with critical-
ly set driving parameters.– Danger
of overturning!
• Before
performing
work, dismantling/mounting parts or
adjusting the settings on the wheel-
chair, push the brake release lever
to the "drive" position and switch off
the control box! – Accident risk re-
sulting from inadvertent movement of
the wheelchair!
If drive mode is switched off (brake re-
lease lever in the "push" position) the
wheelchair cannot be operated and
braked via the joystick! In this event, use
the brake release lever (shift to the
"drive" position). – Danger of acci-
dents!
Attention:
!
Please observe the Safety Instruc-
tions!
Although the wheelchair conforms with
the statutory EMV regulations, it can
cause unintentional interference noise if
operated in the vicinity of sensitive elec-
tronic equipment (e.g. buzzing, hum-
ming).
The wheelchair can also interfere with
when
electromagnetic fields, e.g. such as
those emitted by shop anti-theft systems.
Attention:
!
Mobile telephones and other radio
equipment should only be used when
the wheelchair is stationary (control
