Locate the malfunction. Check in the diagnostic mode (Code No. d07).

A. no normal signals are received from the rear wheel sensor.
B. open or short circuit is detected in the neutral circuit of the
neutral switch.
C. open or short circuit is detected in the clutch circuit of the
clutch switch.

Vehicle speed pulses: 0–999
Check that the number increases when the rear wheel is rotated.
The number is cumulative and does not reset each time the
wheel is stopped.

Shift the transmission and clutch lever.

Clutch switch
ON (Gear is in other than neutral, operating clutch and storing
sidestand.)
OFF (Gear is in other than neutral, operating clutch and using
sidestand.)
Shift the transmission, clutch lever and sidestand.
Check or maintenance job
Rotate the rear wheel and make sure that the indi-
cation value increases. Malfunction → Go to the
"Rear wheel sensor system malfunction" section
below.
When the ABS warning light is ON, refer to ABS
troubleshooting.
Check in the diagnostic mode (Code No. d21).
1. When the gear is in neutral position: ON indica-
tion
2. When the gear is not in neutral position: OFF
indication
Malfunction step 1 or 2. → Go to the "Neutral
switch system malfunction" section below.
When the gear is in other than neutral, the clutch is
operated, and the sidestand is stored: ON indica-
tion
Malfunction step 3 → Go to the "Clutch system
malfunction" section below.
