General Radio Operation

Selecting a Zone

Your radio must be preprogrammed to allow you to
use this feature.
A zone is a group of channels. The following methods
are options on how to select a radio zone. The result
of all the methods is the same. You can use the
options interchangeably depending on your
preference and the programmed functions.
Select a zone via the preprogrammed Zone (3-
Position A/B/C) switch:
a) Move the preprogrammed Zone (3-Position
A/B/C) switch to the position of the required
zone.
If the zone number entered is unprogrammed,
the display shows Invalid entry. Repeat this
step.
b) Press the Menu Select button directly below
Sel to confirm the displayed zone.
c) Press the PTT button to transmit on the
displayed zone channel.

Select a zone via the radio menu Zone:
a)
or to Zone and press the Menu Select
button directly below Zone.

to the required zone.
c) Press the Menu Select button directly below
Sel to confirm the displayed zone.
d) Press the PTT button to transmit on the
displayed zone channel.
Select a zone via the radio menu ZnUp or ZnDn:
a)
or to ZnUp or ZnDn.
b) Press and hold the Menu Select button directly
below ZnUp or ZnDn until the required zone
appears.
Positions of ZnUp and ZnDn on the display may
differ each time you release the Menu Select
button. Read carefully before you press.
c) Press the PTT button to transmit on the
displayed zone channel.

A channel is a group of radio characteristics, such as
transmit/ receive frequency pairs. The following
