Each service in a user selectable service list shall be assigned to a unique preset number in the
range of 1...MAX_LCN by applying the following rules:
1 In a not unified country, only the LCN's of the services belonging to the select country will
be considered for a direct one-to-one mapping to preset numbers. For all services belonging
to the other ONIDs, the LCN's shall be used for sorting only. In the other ONIDs, the services
belonging to a USSL, shall first be sorted according to ONID, then to LCN and lastly to
Service_Name.
2 In a unified country, the LCN's of all services, regarless of the ONID, will be considered for
direct one-to-one mapping to preset numbers.
3 All services with BasicServiceType DATA, shall be made "invisible" and shall be allocated
to the highest preset numbers in the USSL.
4 Services considered for direct one-to-one mapping between LCN and Preset-Number within
a USSL shall follow the following rules:
4.01 If two or more services have the same LCN (LCN<=MAX_LCN), then only one of
these services shall be assigned to the preset number with this LCN value. The other
services shall be assigned LCN value MAX_LCN+1. The selection process shall have
the priority: first TV, then highest resolution, MPEG4 above MPEG2, then Radio, then
multi-channel above single channel above mono.
4.02 Services whose LCN value larger than MAX_LCN, shall be sorted according to
Service_Name.
5 Services which where not considered for a one-to-one mapping between LCN and Preset
Number, shall be mapped, in their sorted order to the remaining, unused Preset Numbers.
The following rules shall be followed:
5.01 In a not unified country, first all of the services belonging to the selected ONID
shall be first placed in the largest segment of free preset numbers, in their sorted order.
Thereafter, the next largest segment of free preset numbers shall be found to place
the remaining services, in their sorted order.
5.02 In a unified country, the first largest gap of free numbers shall be used to place
the remaining services, in their sorter order.
6 All analogue tv channels found are first sorted based on [PATS] and assigned to a preset
number, after all digital services have been assigned to one. If no digital services are found at
all during scanning, all analogue tv channels are assigned to presets according to [PATS].
