General Product Specification
A Service that passes all the selection criteria shall be stored in the Primary Service List
The primary service list shall be stored in non-volatile memory and shall include all located analogue
TV channels
4.4.8
User Selectable Service Lists
All services in the PSL shall be given, per default, the Logical Channel Number (LCN) value of 1000
(maximum LCN +1).
In the NIT there may be an LCN descriptor present, whose interpretation depends in the
private_data_specifier preceding it. The LCN descriptor is given in the context of an ONID and TSID.
Hence, it couples a service tuple {ONID,TSID,SID} to an LCN value. This value shall override the
default LCN value of that service.
Service installation shall derive 1 user selectable service list from the primary service list containing
all services that are accessible for the end user
Service installation shall derive 1 user selectable service lists from the primary service list containing
all TV services that are accessible for the end user
Service installation shall derive 1 user selectable service lists from the primary service list containing
all radio services that are accessible for the end user
All services in the PSL shall be selected to be placed in the USSL
A service whose LCN is 0 shall not be selected for the USSL
A selected service in the PSL shall be placed in the USSL if it passes all of the criteria.
User Selectable Service Lists shall be stored in non-volatile memory
Services in a user selectable service list with a visible_service_flag equal to 0 shall be marked as
INVISIBLE. This mark can be used by the User Interface to hide the service in for instance EPG. The
end user will still be able to select the invisible service, for instance via direct digit entry of the preset
number. See also [E-Book] and [NORDIG] about usage of the visible_service_flag in the
logical_channel_descriptor
In the case of interpreting the private descriptors, with the private_data_specifier equal to 0x233A [D-
Book UK], an invisible service will not be placed in the SSL if the numeric_selection_flag, in
descriptor_tag 0x86, is equal to 1
When a service in a USSL refers to a service which is no longer in the PSL, the end user can still
select the service. When no components can be rendered the User Interface could notify the end
user that this service is not available. Also when displaying the service list on the screen the "NOT
ACCESSIBLE' services can for instance be greyed out.
The User Interface, which is not specified here, will offer the end user a number of menu screens to
modify a user selectable service list. Although these menu screens may vary among different
receivers, the underlying processing will be the same (at least as much as possible). The next
requirements will specify the commands the User Interface can call on a specific service in a user
selectable service list.
4.4.8.1
DELETE
A service can be deleted from a user selectable service list. Deleting means that the service is not
selectable anymore in this user selectable service list. But the same service remains selectable in
other user selectable service lists. Once a service is deleted from a list it must not reappear in that list
after a service update installation. Only after a re-installation this service will reappear in the list.
