CAUTION:
Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions shipped with your computer.
NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as the back panel) on the computer.
 Removing the Palm Rest
 
1. Follow the instructions in

2. Remove any card installed in the ExpressCard slot.
 
3. Remove any installed memory modules and the WLAN card (see
 
4. Remove the hard drive (see
 
5. Remove the display assembly (see Display).
 
6. Remove the internal card with Bluetooth
 
7. Turn the computer over and remove the six M2.5 x 5-mm screws from the computer base.
 
8. Turn the computer over and remove the seven screws from the top of the palm rest.
NOTICE:
Pull on the plastic tab on top of the connector to avoid damaging the connector.
 
9. Push the black tab away from the system board connector to disconnect the touch pad cable. Use the plastic tab to pull the touch pad cable away from
the system board connector.
