Telephone Line Problems

In the event that your house telephone does not work these steps will help you to
confirm that this is not caused by the security system. Locate the RJ31X block
identified on page 12 of this guide. Disconnect the telephone cord that runs from that
device to the control panel at the block. If this restores telephone operation, call the
Customer Service Center for service. If removing the telephone connection had no
affect on your telephone's operation, immediately re-connect the telephone line and
contact your telephone company.
Caution: Failure to re-connect the telephone will keep the system from report-
ing emergency conditions and summoning help.
In the event that you have arranged to test the reporting capability of your system and
the test alarm does not report, check that the telephone cable to the alarm control
panel is plugged into the RJ31X jack.
Protected Opening Fault
In the event that red light next to the down arrow remains on, press that arrow to
identify the problem location of the open door, window or area protected with motion
detection. Check that the door or window is securely shut. In the event that the light
does not go out when all doors and windows are shut or no person has been near the
motion detector for the last three minutes, call the Customer Service Center for
service.
