Installing the Scanner Software

After connecting the scanner to your PC, install the scanner
software (EPSON TWAIN Pro) from the CD-ROM. The
installation steps differ depending on the version of Windows.
For Windows 98 and 2000 users, see the instructions in the section
below on this page. For Windows 95 and NT 4.0 users, see "For
Windows 95 and NT 4.0 users" on page 3-10.

For Windows 98 and 2000 users

Note:
❏ If the scanner software is already installed and you are upgrading
your system to Windows 98 or 2000, be sure to uninstall it before
the upgrade, and then re-install it using the same steps described in
this section. For more information, see "Maintenance and
Troubleshooting" in your Online Reference Guide.
❏ Screen displays of Windows 98 are used to represent all versions of
Windows unless difference in operating procedure arise, in such
cases the specific Windows version such as "Windows 98" or
"Windows 2000" is identified.
❏ To install the scanner software in Windows 2000, you need to log
on to Windows as an Administrator.
1. Make sure that the scanner is turned on.
2. Turn on the PC, and start Windows.
