Battery Removal

Engine Control Module (ECM) unit
Remove the seat (see page 56).
Disconnect the battery leads, negative
(black) lead first.
Release
the
brake/tail
accessory cables.
Release the fixing on the Engine Control
Module (ECM) unit.
Lift the ECM unit and place to the side
allowing access to the battery.
Note:
Make sure that the ECM unit is
handled
with
battery
removal
process.
Remove the battery strap.
Detach
the
USB
position aside.
Take the battery out of the case.

this may cause a short circuit or spark,
which would ignite battery gases
causing a risk of personal injury.
