WHERE SHOULD YOU PLACE THE CAMERA?
This is one of the most important aspects of using your new security camera. You
need to make sure that you are putting it in an area that will provide the camera
with the best possible coverage of various locations that you need to keep secure.
The "perfect placement" is going to be different for each individual, as the layout
of rooms and buildings can vary so much.
The best thing to do is to try the camera in several different spots and check out
how it actually looks by viewing the live feed from the Vimtag site mentioned
above. You can then move and adjust the camera so you can get the best possible
angles and location for your room.
When you are connecting through an Ethernet port, you will run the link cable
from the camera to your router so you can connect it to your network. If you are
connecting wirelessly, you tend to have more options in terms of placement, as
you will not have to worry about the proximity of the router. However, both of
these options can be bene cial; it all depends on how and where you want and
need to use the camera. Find what works for you.
In many cases, you will be able to place the camera on a desk, a bookshelf, or oth -
er at surface. However, in some instances, you may need to mount it from other
locations to get that perfect angle, which we will discuss in the following section.
INSTALLING THE CAMERA ON WALLS AND CEILINGS
First, you need to nd a suitable location on the wall or ceiling for the installation.
Before actually installing the camera in one of these areas, it is important that you
check the quality and angle of the image rst. This ensures that you will nd the
right spot the rst time, and not have to mount it in another location later .

When you set up the camera,
whether you are using Ethernet or
WI-FI, wait for approximately 50
seconds. Th e wired Network light will
ash green three times every three
seconds. This means that the cam-
era is connecting normally.
