7. Click Filesystem and open the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf file.
8. In the blacklist.conf window, type the following command:
blacklist nouveau
9. Save the configuration and close the window.
10. Open the /etc/grub.conf file.
11. In the grub.conf window, type the following command:
nouveau.modeset=0 rdblacklist=nouveau
12. Save the configuration and close the window.
13. Open the /etc/inttab file.
14. In the inttab window, change id:5:initdefault: into id:3:initdefault:.
15. Save the configuration and close the window.
16. Restart the server and select the base kernel.
17. Log in to the base kernel by entering your user name and password. Then press Enter.
18. Type the following command lines:
cd /tmp
./NVIDIA-NVS300-Quadro600-Linux-x86-310.19.run
19. When prompted, select Accept and press Enter.
Note: If you are installing the driver on the operating system (64-bit), when the message Install NVIDIA's
32-bit compatibility OpenGL libraries ? is displayed, configure the settings and press Enter.
20. When the message Would you like to...... is displayed, select Yes and press Enter.
21. When the message Your X configuration...... is displayed, select OK and press Enter.
22. Restart the server and log in to the base kernel.
23. Use the startx command to enter the graphics window and double-click Computer.
24. Click Filesystem and open the /etc/inttab file.
25. In the inttab window, change id:3:initdefault: into id:5:initdefault:.
26. Save the configuration and close the window.
27. Restart the server and the driver installation is completed.

Installing the driver for an HBA card

To install the driver for an HBA card, do the following:
1. Copy the HBA card driver from the ThinkServer EasyStartup DVD to your local drive. Double-click the
EXE file to unzip it to a folder. Copy the folder to a USB storage device and connect the USB storage
device to your server.
2. Log in to the operating system and copy the folder from the USB storage device to the /tmp directory
on your server.
