5. Troubleshooting

This chapter contains procedures that help you troubleshoot problems with a
CrossFire 8730 Fast Ethernet Translation Switch and its connections to other
devices.

Obtaining Service

There are no serviceable parts inside the switch. Do not remove the cover for any
reason. If you think your switch requires service, please contact Olicom Technical
Support. Please refer to Chapter 6, "Getting in Touch with Technical Support" for
instructions.

Troubleshooting in a Network

The switch console and SNMP management agent give you access to important
statistics and other information about the network, as seen by the switch. (See the
CrossFire 8730 Fast Ethernet Translation Switch—Reference Guide ).
