Downmix function (Aspen IVDM-7003)

The downmix function in the audio setup's "Audio Effect Control"
submenu is used to control the downmix mode for the audio/vid-
eo outputs (VIDEO 1 OUT, VIDEO 2 OUT) and loudspeaker/
preamp outputs.
The downmix function on the remote control is used to control
the downmix mode for the loudspeaker/preamp outputs. If the
downmix mode is activated using the DOWNMIX button on the
remote control, this will have the same effect as deactivating
("OFF" setting) the centre loudspeaker and subwoofer in the au-
dio setup's "Speaker Setup" submenu.
Since the Aspen IVDM-7003 is equipped with only one digital
signal processor (DSP), the downmix function for the audio/vid-
eo outputs and for the loudspeaker/preamp outputs cannot be
configured independently of one another.
Note: If the downmix function has been deactivated
("OFF" setting) in the audio setup's "Audio Effect
Control" submenu and a signal source is selected that
has been encoded using the Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS
5.1 process, there will be no centre sound informa-
tion present at the audio outputs of VIDEO 1 OUT and
VIDEO 2 OUT. In order to indicate that this configura-
tion does not make sense, the system mutes the au-
dio outputs of VIDEO 1 OUT and VIDEO 2 OUT. On the
Aspen IVDM-7003, it therefore only makes sense to
deactivate the downmix function if an external ampli-
fier and a centre loudspeaker are being used with the
system.
Note: For the Aspen IVDM-7003, downmix can be set
only if you called the setup menu in DVD mode. The
setting affects only the DVD mode.
