This chapter describes how to configure and manage the BayStack 350 switch
using the menu-driven console interface (CI).
This chapter includes the following information:

Accessing the CI Menus and Screens

You can access the CI menus and screens locally through a console terminal,
remotely through a dial-up modem connection, or in-band through a TELNET
session (see "Connecting the Console/Comm Port" on page 2-10).
You can also manage the BayStack 350 switch using any generic SNMP-based
management software; however, certain parameters (such as the switch IP
address) must be configured for the switch management function to become fully
operational (see "Initial Setup of the BayStack 350 Switch" on page page 2-16).
Note: If you have a properly configured BootP server in your network, it will
detect the IP address; you will not need to configure the IP address.
